Hirsh Precision Products Relocates Headquarters in Expansion to Frederick, Colorado

By February 23, 2022News

Greeley, CO – Hirsh Precision Products, a custom precision parts manufacturer primarily serving the medical, aerospace, and scientific industries, enters the next phase of its corporate expansion. Focusing on environmental sustainability, Hirsh provides the highest quality products possible while ensuring wastewater, oil, coolants, and residual materials leave their facility cleaner than they arrive and are properly recycled. Through the company’s growth, Hirsh consistently meets customers’ top concerns of lead times, capacity, communication, and collaboration.

Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Boulder since 1993, today Hirsh announced plans to expand operations from their Louisville, CO and Boulder, CO locations into an industrial facility in Frederick, Colorado, relocating the majority of their operations into an existing 65,000 square foot building.

“In order to meet the needs of our growing customers, Hirsh Precision needed to significantly expand its manufacturing space.  We were attracted to the Town of Frederick and Weld County due to ease of access for transportation, proximity for our employees, and the economics of the area.  Relocating a business is definitely a daunting proposition but the assistance and support that we have received from the Town of Frederick and Upstate Colorado Economic Development has been tremendous.  They helped educate us about the numerous benefits offered to businesses, as well as explaining opportunities where our company can engage with the community.  This partnership has been extremely helpful and a positive experience,” says Mark Cartwright, Facilities Coordinator at Hirsh Precision.

Tracie Crites, Mayor of the Town of Frederick, states, “We are excited that Hirsh Precision has chosen Frederick as their new home! Since implementing our Strategic Plan in 2021, we have energetically worked to enhance economic opportunities for the Town. It brings me joy to see our Community & Economic Development team and our regional partners at Upstate Colorado and Weld County work together to bring in new businesses. Again, our focus on community and economic vitality is evident. We welcome Hirsh Precision into our FRED family!”

Through the public-private collaboration between Hirsh Precision Products, the Town of Frederick, Weld County, and Upstate Colorado Economic Development, the facility projects an initial investment of $7M in their first phase of expansion which provides significant economic impact for the town. The new facility anticipates hiring 28 new permanent, well-paying jobs and will relocate 90 jobs to Weld County, one of Colorado’s fastest-growing counties.

“We welcome Hirsh Precision Products and are excited to support their expansion as they bring jobs and create new jobs, new investment, and further support manufacturing for the growing aerospace, medical device, and scientific industries in the Northern Colorado region and beyond. Hirsh’s dedication to creating environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices ensures a safe manufacturing environment for their workers and city residents,” stated Scott James, Chair of the Weld County Board of County Commissioners. “We want to thank our partners at the Town of Frederick and Upstate Colorado Economic Development for all their work to bring this project to Northern Colorado.”

In 2021, Hirsh obtained their AS9100 certification, a standardized quality management system requirement for companies involved in the aerospace industry and supply chain, further supporting clients. Aerospace is a rapidly emerging industry in Northern Colorado, which saw 206% growth between 2015 and 2020 and anticipates an additional 37% growth by 2025. As of 2020, Hirsh is also ISO 13485 certified, proving credibility in the medical device manufacturing sector, another growth industry in Northern Colorado. These combined certifications make Hirsh’s new Frederick facility a competitive and strategic place to locate to meet the demand of their consumers.

“The Aerospace cluster is a critical driver of Colorado’s economy. We continue to see growth from our aerospace companies in Northern Colorado and as Hirsh expands it benefits the entire region as they continue to provide cutting-edge technology to top contractors in the state” said Rich Werner, CEO and President of Upstate Colorado.
