Upstate Colorado Economic Development Hires Regional Grants Navigator

By May 15, 2023News

Alison Pegg joins Upstate Colorado Economic Development as the Regional Grants Navigator to serve Region 2. In this role, Pegg will assist local governments within the region to connect to and secure funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and other federal grants. With additional federal funding opportunities becoming available, this position helps ensure communities obtain much-needed funding to support local infrastructure.

“I look forward to learning about the community initiatives and infrastructure needs of the rural communities of Weld and Larimer Counties,” said Pegg. “I am excited to connect them to grant opportunities that will help them accomplish their infrastructure goals.”

Prior to joining Upstate Colorado, Pegg worked for Weld County Department of Human Services. During that time, she developed a passion for working on grants that would create new programs within human services to help improve the lives of residents. Upstate Colorado is thrilled to bring this experience to the region.

“Having Alison join our team helps Upstate Colorado expand its list of services to support our communities in Region 2 who do not have these resources at their disposal. The demand for infrastructure capacity needs to remain a focus in many of our rural and small communities as we continue to lead the State in population growth,” noted Upstate Colorado President, Richard Werner. “The catalog of federal opportunities before us will not always be there, so being able to link our communities with these possibilities can create lasting economic impact for Region 2.”
